New York State license in an appropriate mental health field
Applicants who have not yet received their state licenses but have
completed all of the necessary requirements can be admitted but
licensure is required for a candidate to begin work with clinic
patients in supervision.

Completion of a graduate degree in a mental health field:
- M.D. with a specialization in psychiatry
- Ph.D. or Psy.D. in psychology
- M.S.W. or D.S.W. in social work
- M.S. in psychiatric nursing with certification as a psychiatric clinical nursing specialist
